The math book Bellevue Public Schools uses for their sixth grade curriculum is Passport to Mathematics. This book is published by McDougal Litrell. This is a challenging math book that is used in order to prepare the students for middle school.
In sixth grade we will cover the following chapters:
Chapter One - Problem Solving Together
Chapter Two - Place Value Systems and Operations
Chapter Three - Decimals and Percents
Chapter Four - Application of Decimals and Percents
Chapter Five - Statistics & Graphs
Chapter Six - Fractions, Ratios, & Proportions
Chapter Seven - Adding & Subtracting Fractions
Chapter Eight - Multiplying & Dividing Fractions
Chapter Nine - Geometry & Patterns
Chapter Ten - Geometry & Measurement
Chapter Eleven - Integers & The Coordinate Plane
Chapter Twelve - Algebra: Equations & Probability
The book combines math labs with several lessons in each chapter. On average, there are about six to eight lessons in each chapter. I encourage you to explore the math book with your child.
