Banking On Good Behavior

We use a money system, called "Banking On Good Behavior" in our classroom that incorporates math in a fun and educational way. Each student in our class will be paid $20 (play money) on payday (every week). This is the base pay for being a 2nd grade student in Mrs. Johnson-Korenoski's class! However, this money has to be used to pay any "fines" that the children may incur - these fines are part of the consequences to our class rules. If a rule is broken during the day, the child must pay his/her fine by subtracting the money from their bank account before the end of each day. Students may use accumulated "play" money to make purchases on a monthly basis from Mrs. Johnson-Korenoski's school store. Children may also wish to save their money for special offers throughout the year.

A citizenship report will be sent home each week so that you will be able to keep track of your child's behavior. I ask that the bottom portion of the report be signed and sent back at the beginning of each week.
