Growing Up

I was born in Belleville, Illinois and am an only child. My Mom, Dad and I moved to Gleason, Tennessee when I was just 6 months old so my Dad could pastor a church there and attend college. My Mom stayed home to take care of me until I started school. I couldn't wait to start Kindergarten - I've always liked school! I went to Kindergarten at Gleason Elementary. After Kindergarten, we moved to Louisville, Kentucky for three years while my Dad attended Seminary. When I was 9 years old my family moved to Plattsmouth, Nebraska. I started 4th grade in Nebraska and later graduated from Plattsmouth High School.

College Years

I attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.  During college I was very involved in Residence Life, Symphonic Band, Chamber Singers and Christian Education at my church. In May 1999, I married my high school sweetheart, Brian. I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan in May 2000 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an emphasis in Vocal and Instrumental Music. I began teaching music and band at Fairview in August 2000.

Today

I have been the music teacher at Fairview since the school opened in 2000. In March 2002, our daughter Kayla Marie was born. In June 2006, our second daughter Courtney Christina was born. Both girls are such a delight! My husband is a Funeral Director at Fusselman - Wymore Funeral Home. I earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in August 2005. Currently I am working on my Certification in Educational Administration at UN-L. When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, shopping, and singing with the Praise Band at my church where I serve as the Creative Arts Director.
