Daily 5 This year we are doing the Daily 5 in our classroom. During the Daily 5, students are working on five different things: Read to Self, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, Work on Writing, and Work on Word Work. We are focusing on Reading to Self, Working on Writing, and Working Word Work in our classroom. The first few weeks of school have been spent discussing expectations during our Daily 5 time and building stamina. During this time the students have also worked on how to successfully choose books using the Rule of 5 and the "I PICK" strategy. Below is a slideshow of the students choosing books and building stamina in Reading to Self, Reading to Someone, and Listening to Reading.
