Información Personal

This is my seventh year teaching at Mission Middle School.  I started at Mission in 2000-2001 teaching 8th grade English on the team known as the Trailblazers.  In 2003-2004, I started teaching Spanish courses full time as an elective teacher.  I currently teach approximately 100 students per day in the 7th grade Intro to World Language and Spanish I courses.

I am a native of rural Anthon, Iowa, graduating from Anthon-Oto High School, a small school in northwest Iowa.  I attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, where I earned my BA with double majors in English Literature and Spanish.  I then returned to finish my 7-12 teaching certification.  I taught English 9, Spanish I, II, & III for one year at West Hancock High School in Britt, Iowa, before arriving in Bellevue.  Interestingly enough, Mission Middle School's French teacher's (Mrs. Hagemann) father was my first superintendent!  I am currently finishing my Master of Arts degree in Curriculum & Instruction: Educational Technology through the University of Northern Iowa

I married my fabulous husband, Dennis, in July 2002.  We keep very busy with my step-daughter Kelsie's activities, as well as our involvement in various ministry programs at our church.  We live in Council Bluffs, where my husband owns a lawn care business and a stained glass business.  We also have 2 "babies" -- Gus, our German Shepherd, who weighs in around 110 pounds and Buster, our cat, who weighs in around 22 pounds.
