Pumpkin Activities

October 31, 2006

Meet Mr. Pumpkin...the focus or our math for the day!

We estimated our pumpkin's weight.

It actually weighed 12.5  pounds.

We estimated the number or seeds in our pumpkin.

Then we counted all of the seeds...we grouped and counted by 10's.  Our pumpkin had 646 seeds (give or take a few??)

We predicted whether our pumpkin would sink or float.

  It floated!

Then we carved our pumpkin.  Here are some of the words that we used to describe the inside our pumpkin...

icky, gooey, cold, slimy, soft, medium, wet, squishy, hot, stringy, slippery, mushy, and sticky!

FrankinBoo &Mr. Fire Head, Aren't they wonderful?!
