Mrs. Wells is a senior citizen volunteer who reads with us each Thursday. We affectionately call her 'our grandma reader'. Because she an important member of our learning community, we thought we would do a little feature about Mrs. Wells on our classroom web page. Mrs. Wells grew up in Oklahoma where she attended a small school. She knew nearly everyone in her school and loved playing sports. She has also lived in in Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Japan, and Nebraska. We asked Mrs. Wells about her family. She has 2 grown up daughters. They are married, and she has 2 grandsons and a granddog, Bailey. Mrs. Wells also has a large cat, named Bijou, who rules her house. For fun, our grandma reader, likes to cross stitch. (She made us all bookmarks for Christmas!) She also likes crossword puzzles, nature, and shopping. She takes in orphan ducks and keeps them until they can be released into the wild. Her favorite food is sea food and foreign foods, but she doesn't like pasta, sardines, or anchovies. Her favorite holiday is Christmas, and her favorite colors are purple, blue, and rust. She collects dolls from all over Asia, and she's made some herself. She also has a bird collection. Mrs. Wells told us the she really enjoys the time with all of the "K" Kids. We are so lucky to have her in our classroom!
