Nocturnal Fun

Since "K" Kids wear the pajamas at night, we all wore our pj's to school and had Pajama Day.  Every good pajama party needs popcorn so we made some...but we forgot to put the lid on!

We predicted where it would hit on our mat.  Here are our results.  (Don't worry, Mom...we didn't eat the popcorn off of the mat.)

While that popcorn was popping, we sang "The Popcorn Song"...

 ...and danced a little.

  This Pajama Party is fun!

We read the story Owl Babies by Martin Waddell and drew our own wonderful owls.

"Ten in the bed, and the little one said, "Roll Over".  They all rolled over and one fell out...."  We read the story "Roll Over".  Here's a picture of us acting out the story.   Don't worry,  we aren't really sleeping.  It was too crowded and giggly to get any rest!

Finally  Throughout the week, we made a class book, "Roll Over".  We had to do a lot of problem solving to figure out how many people our book needed.  During math, we reviewed patterning and made quilts for the book.  Click on the picture above to hear us reading our story.

B-B-B-B-B-Batman!  Our  bracelets gave us special powers to sound out words!

We read Stellaluna by Janell Cannon and watched "The Magic School Bus, Going Batty" to learn all about bats.  These lovely creatures of the night are decorating our classroom.
