Family Memories Quilt

This week we focused on Families.  We read lots of books about families.  After reading the story Tar Beach by Faith Ringold, we each created a quilt block of a favorite family time.

Here's one of the family graphs that we made this week.  We recorded how many people are in our family.  No matter what size our family is, it is perfect for us!!

Here's another graph...The blocks symbolize how many kids are in each family.  The yellow blocks are the "K" Kids and the blue blocks are their siblings.  As you can see, most of us have 2 kids in our family and most of us are the oldest.

A few other fun things from our week...

We've earned 600 C.A.T.S. cards so we got to have "Kauk Time"!  Mr. Kauk joined us for recess and center time.

To wrap up our science unit on "Properties" we mixed up corn starch and water.

Is it a liquid?...

Or a solid?

A little of both...and it's fun!...

and messy!
