We read Jan Brett's The Mitten.  Then we acted out the story, sewed our own mittens, and created characters to retell the story.

Click on the picture of the books to get to Jan Brett's website.

Acting out the story was fun!

We sewed and decorated our mittens.

Then we made all of the animal characters to go in our mittens to help us retell the story.

During math, we estimated how many counting bears would fit in our mittens.

Even if our predictions weren't  right on, we know that we're getting smarter..

Here's our class igloo...in progress.  Hopefully it will be done on Monday.  Any predictions on how many milk jugs it will take?

We listed some words that we might want to use in our journals this month.

What can we possibly be doing with toilet paper?

and grated soap?  Check back next week to see!
