Ocean Fun

Our ocean theme started off with a look at the globe to find the different oceans of the world.  We found that their are four oceans, but they are all connected.  We learned a song about the oceans and read several books about oceans.  We are in the process of making our classroom an "Under the Sea" experience.

On our first day of ocean study, we learned that ocean water and fresh water are very different and different animals live in each.  We decided to taste a little 'ocean water'.  Here we are 'toasting' the ocean before we tasted it.

Oooh!  Mrs. Brockhaus, this is terrible!

YUCK!

Playing with shells at our ocean center.

Checking out bottles containing different kinds of sand from oceans around the world.

We put the whole ocean puzzle together!  (This puzzle has mystery pictures hidden within so once you have it put together, you can keep on learning.

Here's our ocean flannel board center.  There's a lot going on in this ocean!

Here's our ocean mural so far.  Our Sixth Grade Buddies helped us make sea creatures.  We are also studying one sea animal each day to populate our ocean.  Below are some facts that we learned about each animal and a sample of our cute little sea creatures...
