We wrapped up our study of farms this week...

Our seeds with no water...

Our seeds with water, but no light...

Our seeds with water and light!  We proved that seeds need water, light, and air to grow!

Here are some samples of grains grown in Nebraska.

Chicken Facts
  1. Baby chickens are chicks.  The mommy is a hen, and the daddy is a rooster.

  2. Chickens give us eggs and meat

  3. Chickens eat oyster shells to make their eggs hard.

  4. Chickens are birds, but they cannot fly very good.

 
Horse Facts
  1. A baby horse is a foal.  A daddy is a stallion, and a mommy is a mare.

  2. Horses have hooves with one toe. 

  3. Horses need their hooves trimmed, and they wear shoes.

  4. Horses give us rides.

  5. People sit on a saddle to ride a horse.

We read the story Mrs. Wishy-washy and acted it out.
