We Went On A Bear Hunt!

Our opening theme was bears so we all brought our favorite stuffed bear or animal to school with us.  Throughout the week, we read to them, measured them, and sorted them.  On Friday, our kindergarten animals led us on an adventure through the school.  We left them in our classroom while we went to library.  Apparently the animals got lonely so they left us a note and took off.  When we returned, we had to go looking for them.  It took awhile, but we found them in the office, having a meeting with Mrs. Roberts.  Throughout our search, we found that there are a lot of super people in our building that want to keep us safe and help us learn.

We measured our stuffed animals.  Here are the results of how tall they were.  We used math words like:  equal, more, less, taller, and shorter when we were measuring.

This is the note that our animals left for us.

Ms. Adams (a second grade teacher) thought that she saw them in the hall.

Mrs. Shea (our office paraprofessional) promised that she'd check the storage closet for us when she went to put supplies away.

Mrs. Mosey (a special education paraprofessional) hadn't seen them, but she said she'd keep an eye out for them.

Mrs. Fripp (our reading teacher) had a bunch of her own stuffed animals, but she hadn't seen ours.

Mrs. Smith (our secretary) and Mr. Madison (our custodian) hadn't seen them either.

Mrs. Ryan and Mr. Weatherall (custodians) recalled something like this happening last year, but they hadn't seen any animals today.

Yeah!  We found them!  Mrs. Roberts said that they just showed up in her office while she was working, and she "bearly" noticed them.
