.JPG) Our first stop with
the Holiday Express was Germany. While in Germany, we created a
German (Advent) Calendar and decorated Tannenbaums. You can also ask your favorite
"K" Kids how to count to 10 and say "Merry Christmas" in German. |

Thanks to Alex for sharing his dad's "lederhosen". This is
traditional German dress. He also share a picture of him wearing the
outfit for his 4th birthday! |

We each created our own 'Tannenbaum"
to decorate the hallway. |
.JPG)
After we decorated our Tannenbaums, we
had to tally each of our shapes and write the correct numbers. |

Here's our Tannenbaum in the Playhouse
Center. Doesn't it look festive? We decorated it all by
ourselves! |

Jacob's dad just got
back from a trip to Spain. We didn't 'travel' there this week, but
we did look up Spain on the map. It's pretty close to Germany (at
least it looks that way on the map!)

Jenna's family shared a menu from a
restaurant in Europe. She also brought in some money from Europe and
a piece of the Berlin Wall! The "K" Kids found the Berlin Wall very
intriguing and a little scary.

This week, we also wrote letters to Santa with our 6th grade buddies.
After we wrote our letters, our buddies read us stories. |

We
are hoping that Santa will respond soon. |

Friday, we hopped on the Magic Holiday Bus and
traveled to Holland. Here are Mrs. Brockhaus' shoes for the trip.
Her brother brought them for her when he went to Holland for real. |

We learned that children in Holland put
their shoes out on their porch on Sinter Klaas Day (December 6th). If
the children have been good, they get candy and treats. If they have
been naughty, they get coal and rocks. Here's a sample of our art
project. As you can see, this shoe is full of candy and treats! |

Here's our note to Sinterklaas.
We're going to put our shoes out at home and hope that Sinterklaas will make
it to Nebraska! |

Just in case Sinterklaas doesn't come
to the United States, we have our stockings sewn and ready for Santa. |
