Happy 100th Day of School!!

Okay...it has nothing to do with 100 Day, but we made Slime last week with our buddies.  They all have to do a Science Project for an assignment so we read My Science Project Almost Ate the School and demonstrated a little Science.

This Slime is ICKY!  I hope it doesn't eat our school!

Before you can have a really good party, you have to do a little preparing.  Here we are painting our 100 Day t-shirts.  "Thanks Mom for helping us!"

Our Best Buddies helped, too.

"Wow!  You are a great artist!"

"Do you like my spider web and robot?"

We read about how Miss Bindergarten gets ready for the 100th Day of School.  We made glasses, t-shirts, and crowns.

We didn't have any 100 Day worries.  Our parents helped us find 100 of something to share with our class.  We read clues to our friends so that they could guess what we brought.  To see the collages that we made with our 100 items check out our Collage Page.

All week, we did different activities with a 100's Chart.  Here we made a puzzle.

Then our friends had to put the chart back together.  We challenged our parents to put the puzzles together at home.

We read about 100 hungry ants.  They were marching to a picnic to get food, but it was taking so long.  First, they were in a line of 100.  Then they moved to 2 lines of 50, 4 lines of 25, 5 lines of 20, and finally 10 lines of 10.  We used the cubes to retell the story.

We read Wolf's Chicken Stew.  Uncle Wolf baked 100 cookies for the little chicks.  It took a LONG time to create 100 chicks.  We didn't even get to use a scissors.  We had to tear those cute little critters.

This was a fun story that we borrowed from Mrs. Fripp.  After we read the book, we wrote words from our word wall on 100 bones.  It took us a while to calculate how many bones we would each have to do to get exactly 100.  When we were done, Mrs. Brockhaus hid the bones around the room.  We had to find them and read 100 words!

We predicted how tall a stack of 100 books would be.  Our predictions are taped on the door frame.  We all predicted too high.  Guess who got the closest?

To kick off 100 Day, we jumped through the giant 100!

Here we come!...

We predicted where 100 steps from our classroom door would take us.

100 Steps will take us to…

the library--Shane
every classroom--Madison
the lunchroom--Eoin
PE--Lily
the principal's office--Brady
the principal's office--Alex
the gym--Jeremiah
the principal's office--Jacob

100 steps took us just past the library to Mrs. Fripp's Reading Room.!

Mrs. Brockhaus' brought 100 Mystery Items just like we did.  Her clues were...
1.  They come in all colors.
2.  They have different shapes.
3.  They start with B.
4.  You need them at a party.

BALLOONS!  Thank goodness for our Best Buddies to blow them all up!

Decorating our room if FUN!

100 Day Fun!

My chair is under here somewhere...

Our igloo is looking good!

"Do you like my decorations?"

We finally got to meet Zero the Hero.  She's been delivering mystery treats every 10th day of school, but we never got to see her.

She was CRAZY!  She tried to work a little magic and make Mrs. Brockhaus disappear.  When that didn't work, she changed 100 pennies into a dollar bill.  In case you're wondering where Mrs. Zero came from...you'll have to ask Mrs. Smith in our school office.

Yummy!  Mrs. Zero brought us "100" cookies.

She dropped her hat so we tried it on.  Mrs. Zero said it was her "Sunday Best" hat.

After we had our fun, we had to do a little work...Mrs. Brockhaus had us color each number on a 100's Chart a specific color.  In the end, we discovered the Mystery Picture.

My mystery picture is a heart!

Here we are digging for 100 treasures in Mrs. Brockhaus' bin of rice.  We had to see how many we could find in just 5 minutes.
