Our Pirate Adventures

We had a pirate adventure this week.  We made a ship, parrots, hats, spyglasses, a treasure chest full of jewels, and treasure maps.

We brainstormed what we'd need for a Pirate Center.

Some of us made the anchor and chain.

Some of us made the masts.

Taping our ship together.

How is this going to turn into a crow's nest??.

Here's the Jolly Roger flag.

We're making water and waves for the ship.

We're making weapons for the pirates.

Getting the sails ready.

Since pirates make maps to find their buried treasure, we made treasure maps, too.  Here's the treasure map of our classroom.  Can you locate the treasure?

Mrs. Smith found our map in the office.  She thought she'd give it a try.

We made treasure maps of our rooms at home.

We're going to hide treasure in our rooms and see if our parents can find it by using our maps.

Orienting the map...which way is north?

Over the couch!

Under the table...this treasure hunting is hard work!

Driving this ship is fun!  Mrs. Smith got sea sick pretty quickly though.

She found the treasure!  Thanks for sharing it with us, Mrs. Smith!!
