Learning About Plants

Here's the song the we learned about plant parts.  We sang it to the tune of  "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes".

We created a flower and labeled the different parts.

We put white carnations in colored water.  If our theory of water traveling up the stem is correct, they should turn colors...Check back next week for pictures of the results.

We planted bean seeds in a 'greenhouse'.  Check back next week to see the results.

We also planted a variety of seeds in cups of soil.  We are having a wonderful time watering them and taking care of them daily.  Hopefully next week, we'll have green sprouts in 'our little garden'.

We planted seeds in different conditions.  We are going to record what happens to each seed.

This is our book for the seeds with no light.

This is our book of seeds with no water.

This is our book of seeds with light and water.  Students were concerned that it wouldn't grow because we didn't have any real dirt just paper towels.
