Under the Sea

It's not an ocean activity, but our tables needed cleaning.  We talked Mrs. Brockhaus into putting shaving cream on to clean them up.  She agreed, but we had to do some math with it.

Can you read this equation?

We learned some songs about the oceans.  Ask your favorite "K" Kid to share them with you.

We had fun sorting shells at our ocean center.

Here's one of our ocean centers.  We have all sort of felt board sea creatures.

We compared sand from different places and discussed why it might look different.

Here's a sea sponge.

We have a piece of a sea fan.

We talked about the food chain and organized our fish smallest to largest.

We learned about one kind of ocean animal each day.  After reading about them, we wrote 5 facts for each animal and created that animal for our ocean mural...

Melinda brought in an octopus.  When you put it in warm water, he grew.

We have sea horses living in the sea grass.

Here's a portion of our ocean mural.
