Fall Fun!

Here are some of our fall projects that we did this week...

Check out our giant sunflower!  This is one that Mrs. Brockhaus' grew in our garden.  It's just like the ones that we planted at our Kindergarten Round-Up last spring.

Here's what the flower looks like in that fall.  The petals are all gone, and now it has ripe seeds.

Checking out the seeds at our science center

Comparing leaves at our science center...We used words like bigger/smaller, smooth/jagged, red, brown, and green.  We found that no leaves were exactly the same.

One of our science objectives deals with the 4 seasons.  This is a challenging concept for kindergartners because they associate seasons with holidays.  To help us get it all straight, we made a chart.  Seasons are the biggest (about 100 days).  Months are the next size (about 30 days).  Holidays are just one exciting day.  We also put the kinds of weather that we experience most during each season.

We made an art project to represent how trees change
with the seasons.

We organized the Pumpkin Patch.
