To learn about community helpers, we read several books and discussed all sorts of jobs and careers in our community. We recalled the careers that our parents have shared during our "Special Person" visits. We also discussed why people have jobs and if they provide goods or services.

Of course, we have to have a McDonalds Restaurant.	Our restaurant is a full service, fancy place to eat!
We have full-color menus and excellent servers.	Just look at our writing!
Every community needs a grocery store. We discussed and made signs for the different departments in the grocery store.	All of our items are priced at less than 10 cents. When we shop, we have to add up the cost and pay with real money.
There's a lot of building going on in the construction zone.	Don't you love our hard hat and tools?
Welcome to the hospital.	. In case someone gets sick or hurt, we have a hospital.
Here we are treating one of our stuffed animals.	...And we must keep patient records.
