We used the balance scale to weigh apples.  We used the math words 'heavier' and 'lighter'. 

Here we are using apples to measure how tall we are.  Mrs. Brockhaus is 28 apples tall.  How many apples tall is your "K" Kid?

To make apple sauce, we used an apple peeler-corer-slicer.  What a fun tool!!!

We made "Apple Slinkies".

It's finally done!  It tastes wonderful...at least most of us thought so.

Here's what we did to make the apple sauce if you want to try it at home.  The ratio is 6 apples to 1 cup of water.  We just added cinnamon and sugar to taste.

Here's the chart/poem that we learned this week.  We used the chart at center time and put a copy of it in our Poetry Folders.  Can you find the word "the"?

We learned the word 'estimation' and estimated the number of apples that would fit around this big apple.

We read Ten Apples Up On Top by Theo. LeSieg.  Then we got in 3 groups to create people so we could put our apple graph 'up on top'.

Here's our graph.  Which had the most?  Which colors are equal?  Which had the least?

We sequenced apples by size.  We talked about size words like:  enormous, humongous, gigantic, large, tiny, small, and little.
