Our state is New Jersey! NJ became a state on December 18th, 1787. The state bird is the Eastern Goldfinch.  The purple violet is the state flower.  NJ's capital is Trenton.  NJ borders the Atlantic Ocean.  We live in rural Sussex County home to Mountain Creek Ski Resort.  The Appalachian Trail runs through our county.  Our school in Sparta, Helen Morgan Elementary, is an official Monarch Butterfly Waystation called Le Monarch Cafe.  We can't wail to learn about your state.
