Dear Friends from across the USA,

Hello from Delaware! Our school is located right outside of Dover, the capital of Delaware.  Delaware is known as the first state, because it was the first state to ratify the constitution.  Delaware is the 2nd smallest state in the whole USA.  Only Rode Island is smaller than us!  That's why our state is sometimes called "Small Wonder".  Here are some other facts about Delaware:  Our state drink is milk.  The state bird is the blue hen, and our state insect is the ladybug.  Also, did you know that Delaware's state marine animal is the horseshoe crab?  We hope you learned some new things about Delaware.  We look forward to getting your postcard and learning about your state! From ~ Mrs. Bailey's 2nd Grade Class
