Fun at Literacy Stations
At the listening and reading station, we listen to stories and read them.
At the poetry station, we put together poems and circle all of the word wall words. We also have sentences that we have to put together and then write them on our sentence strips.
At the word station we use letter stamps to stamp our word wall words. We also write our word wall words out, and make a book word families
We also use a dice that has word wall words on it. We graph the amount of times we roll on the words.
At our observation station, we write sentences about things that we can see. We also try to use our detail words like smooth, rough, big, little and also color words.
At our math station, we stamp out numbers, roll dice to make a turkey, trace the numbers in a calendar and also practice writing the numbers.
At the writing station, we cut out things from magazines that start with a certain letter. We also make thank you cards, I'm sorry cards and Happy Birthday cards.
At the puzzle station, we put together puzzles. We came up with a good strategy of finding and starting with the straight edges first!
At the "Write the Room" station, we find words around our room. We even started sorting the words in different categories: one, two, three and four letter words.
