Holidays Around the World
This week we packed our bags, made our passports and flew to Germany!
We made passports so we could visit the different countries
We learned that in Germany there is a winged figure that brings gifts to the children. The children write letters to the Christkind, decorate them with sugar and then hang them under the window. So we wrote letters to the Christkind asking for a gift.
We also decorated them with sugar and hung them under our window.
We also learned that Chirstmas Trees in Germany are called Tannenbaums.
At the end of the week, we read Gingerbread Baby By Jan Brett. We made Gingerbread people and each of us had a number to write. Then we had to put all of the Gingerbread people in order.
