Student of the Week

 Dear Parents,

Student of the week is a favorite activity and excellent opportunity for children to speak in class, develop listening skills, and learn about interesting topics.

Please help your child select 7-8 pictures and an appropriate item to share and discuss with the class.  You can help by assisting your child with what they might show and say to the class.

Some ideas:  things you have made together, a few items from a collection, a special award, how to make or do something, artifacts/coins/posters about a trip, a science experiment, or a book review.  If you choose to do a book review, please bring the book to show and help your child become familiar with the title and author's name.  Practice telling specific reasons you liked the book, and choose a passage to read aloud to the class.

Please no toys, Webkinz, DVD's, CD's, or electronic devices (DS, etc..)

Some things to tell:   Who is in the pictures?

                                   Where are they?

                                   What are they doing?

For the sharing item:   What is it?

How is it made or how did you make it?

                                      How does it work?

                                      Where did it come from?

                                      Where do you keep it?

Why is it special to you?

Please keep a copy of the schedule at home!  I will also keep it posted on my website.

                                                                                                                        Thank you for helping,

                                                                                                                                    Mrs. Michael
