Suggestions for Parents

Elementary
1.  Discuss what was learned at school each day.
2.  Have your child show you all work when it comes home.
3.  Set aside a time each day for silent reading or have a family reading time.
4.  Model reading to your child.
5.  Use manipulatives to help your child learn math concepts.
a. Straws or popsicle sticks can be bundled together to create tens and hundreds.
b. Raisins or candy can be used for counting.
Secondary
1.  Be available to talk with your child.
2.  Let driving privileges require a "2" average
3.  Let your child know that their success is important to you.
