Monarch Butterfly

  • Monarch butterflies travel all the way to Florida, Texas, and Mexico for the Winter.  They fly back north in the Spring.
  • They lay their eggs on the Milkweed plant. The baby caterpillars eat only milkweed until they they make their chrysalis and then turn into butterflies.
  • The Butterflies are orange, yellow and black.
  • Birds do not like Monarchs because they are poisonous and taste bad.  That saves a lot of Monarch butterflies.
