Lions live in Africa and sometimes in zoos. They are in the cat family. The male lions have long fluffy fur around their necks. The fur is called a ruff. The male lion protects his family and helps his mate hunt for food. Most lions live on the plains of Africa where it is a bit dry. They usually live in a group called a pride.
