Animal Adaptation Teacher Information

Materials:

Print two sheets: The scavenger hunt pages 1 and 2 only. Page 3 just has Internet sites and nothing for the students to fill in.) and the Animal datasheet
Procedure:
1. Pass out the Animal Adaptation Scavenger Hunt (When the scavenger hunt
is visible on the web, just click on Print on the browser. Print one copy for each student or have them work in pairs.)



2. Demonstrate to the students how to find answers to the questions.


3. When students have completed the basic scavenger hunt questions, pass out the Animal Report Datasheet.  Explain to students that they are to use the table of Internet animal sites to find information about an animal of their choice. 


4. Model how to find the information for students.


5. Allow students time to explore the Internet sites and fill in their data.


6. Have students use their data to write a report, create a poster, or any other way for students to demonstrate their information for the other students.
Evaluation:
Explain to students that they will be evaluated on how many facts they put in the report, poster, or presentation. You could use the rubric below.
